Aja Settles, M.Ed.

SENIOR CONSULTANT

Aja Settles has been a rock star leader in education for over two decades, serving as a teacher, principal, literacy expert, and national training leader.  After spending nearly a decade working in schools as a teacher and instructional leader, Aja has deep knowledge of primary school instruction, content, curriculum design, and staff development. 

Aja started her career in education as a Teach for America corps member in Camden, NJ. During this time, she became a Literacy Specialist through Lesley University’s Literacy Collaborative. A few years later, Aja joined the founding staff of North Star Academy Elementary School as a kindergarten lead teacher. During her time with North Star Academy, Aja served as a grade level instructional leader, founded their second elementary school, was an adjunct professor at Relay Graduate School of Education, and co-authored Great Habits, Great Readers with Paul Bambrick-Santoyo.

Aja holds a MA in Educational Leadership from Columbia University.
