OUR PEOPLE

Cherese Brauer is dedicated to reimagining how to best educate students, coach leaders, and run transformative schools that unleash human potential. She brings over twenty years of experience as an educator, coach and leader in elementary and middle schools.  Leveraging strong adaptive and technical skills, Cherese successfully founded two elementary schools with KIPP DC Public Charter Schools. As a turnaround leader, she galvanized a school community by shifting the hearts, minds, and actions of key stakeholders to transform her second school from low to high performing within two years.  Building relationships and parlaying them into indisputable impact is one of the superpowers that has distinguished Cherese as a leader within the KIPP network. She values a people-centric approach to operationalizing a compelling vision with clear goals, replicable structures and smart systems. More recently, Cherese served as CEO and Superintendent of KIPP NorCal Schools, where she presided over 21 high-performing schools serving students in low-income communities. She loves dancing, feeding her wanderlust, and enjoying delicious food with good people.
